AOY Eligibility
The nominee must be an Airman (E1-E4) serving in the AFAD, ANG, or AFRC, as of December 31 of the calendar year immediately preceding the year of consideration at the annual division and/or international meetings. Selected division nominees who are promoted to E-5 prior to the annual international meeting (but after Dec. 31 of preceding calendar year) may represent their division at the International AFSA AOY competition.
Notes: The nominee must be a member of AFSA prior to 1 Jul of the year in which being nominated.

NCOY Eligibility
The nominee must be a NCO in the ranks of E5 or E6 serving in the AFAD, ANG, or AFRC, as of December 31 of the calendar year immediately preceding the year of consideration at the annual division and/or international meetings. Selected division NCOYs who are promoted to E-7 prior to the annual international meeting but after Dec. 31 of the preceding calendar year may represent their division at the International AFSA NCOY competition.
Notes: The nominee must be a member of AFSA prior to 1 Jul of the year in which being nominated.
